Driftline Terms of Use

By using Driftline, as an app or on the web, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
Adults only
Driftline is for people 18 and older. By using it, you confirm you are at least 18.
The zone is an estimate
Driftline draws where smoke odor is likely to drift using a standard air-dispersion model and public weather data. Real smoke depends on things the app can't see, such as sudden gusts, eddies around buildings, open windows and how sensitive each person's nose is. Nobody has measured exactly how far people can smell smoke outdoors. People outside the zone may still smell smoke, and people inside it may not. Use the zone as a rough guide, not a guarantee.
Not legal or health advice
Nothing in Driftline is legal, medical or professional advice. It does not tell you whether, where or when smoking is allowed, and it does not encourage smoking or the use of any substance.
Follow your local laws
You are responsible for following the laws and rules where you are, including smoke-free areas, building and lease rules, and laws on cannabis, which is illegal in many places. Driftline does not sell, deliver or promote tobacco or cannabis.
Your location and privacy
Driftline keeps no record of your location. It is used on your phone and sent only to the weather and map services the app needs to load your area. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Third-party data
Weather, maps and building data come from free public services (the National Weather Service, the Aviation Weather Center, MET Norway, OpenStreetMap and OpenFreeMap). They may be wrong, late or unavailable, and Driftline is not responsible for them.
No warranty
Driftline is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. It may change or stop working at any time.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the maker of Driftline is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any fines, complaints, disputes or other losses, arising from your use of Driftline or your reliance on it. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Apple
If you got Driftline from the App Store, these terms are between you and the maker of Driftline, not Apple. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.
Changes and contact
These terms may be updated. The new version will be posted here with a new date, and using Driftline after that means you accept it. Questions? Email driftlinerequest@gmail.com.
